Services by department

What can I help with?

Choose the department closest to your work. We can start with one recurring task, a specific project or a small pilot, using your existing tools where they fit.

Economic development

Research the opportunities worth pursuing, then help move the selected ones forward.

Opportunity monitoring
Reviewed briefs on funding, procurement, partnerships and relevant BC industries, with sources, dates and a clear explanation of why each item matters.
Follow-through and project support
Opportunity registers, deadlines, briefing notes and next steps. Support with local opportunity assessments, stalled projects and partnership coordination.
Ask about economic development

Employment & careers

Jobs bulletins and one-to-one support
Local and provincial job postings, career consultations, and résumé and cover-letter preparation tailored to real opportunities.
Application and interview workshops
Application checklists, résumé editing, mock interviews and feedback. Career planning can include apprenticeships, training and relevant professional connections.

Education

Keep opportunities, applications and student follow-up organised.

Bursaries and scholarships
Reviewed opportunity lists, current application links, eligibility information and deadline calendars, with approved reminders.
Funding application coordination
Intake forms, application receipts, missing-document follow-up, status tracking and draft decision correspondence. Staff retain funding and payment authority.

Administration & governance

Reduce repeated document preparation and make outstanding work easier to track.

Reports and recurring documents
Draft Council and department reports, agendas, minutes, routine correspondence and funding progress updates using approved information and templates.
Office workflows and action tracking
Map the steps staff repeat, identify delays, and organise owners, due dates and review queues. Authorised staff check and approve documents before circulation.
Ask about administration & governance

Communications & newsletters

Bring department updates together in a publication members can actually use.

Newsletter production
A submission schedule, reusable design, edited copy and a finished newsletter for print, email or the web.
Coordinated community updates
Jobs, education deadlines, events and service notices in one place, with missing details followed up and a clear approval process before release.
Ask about communications & newsletters

Daycare & family services

Make family forms easier to complete and staff follow-up easier to manage.

Family forms and profiles
Mobile-friendly registration and update forms, saved progress, clear instructions and approved child profiles with a record of changes.
Follow-up queues
Track missing documents, incomplete registrations and update requests. Pickup, custody and other sensitive changes remain subject to authorised staff verification.
Ask about daycare & family services

Health

Help health staff organise appointments, records and routine follow-up.

Appointments and records coordination
Approved reminders, confirmations, callback lists, rescheduling requests, transport handoffs and missing-document tracking.
Approved care-plan support
Draft task lists and plain-language material from clinician-approved plans for clinical review. Explore documentation tools and clinical AI options with the clinical lead.

Clinical evaluation is separately scoped. These services do not provide autonomous diagnosis, treatment or emergency monitoring.

Elders & knowledge keeping

Support Elders who choose to record stories and decide how they are shared.

Story recording and family archives
Supported recording sessions, draft transcripts for review, organised recordings and optional family booklets using approved stories and images.
Optional voice companion pilot
Explore an accessible AI conversation interface with participating Elders. A separate, opt-in pilot for conversation or chosen activities, with a simple way to stop.

Elders and appropriate knowledge holders control use and sharing. No voice imitation or model training is implied. A companion is not a care provider or a replacement for visits.

Across departments

AI training and
hands-on IT help.

You do not need to replace every system to make a useful change. I can help staff learn the tools and sort out the setup.

AI workshops for your team

Sessions for administrative staff, executives, Chief and Council. Work through relevant examples, learn how to check AI output and agree what information should stay out of a tool.

Workflow review and tailored tools

Walk through one process with staff, identify repetitive steps and test an improvement. Custom tools, integrations and ongoing support are scoped to the work involved.

Networks and home connectivity

IT networking, Starlink setup, in-home internet, Wi-Fi and connected devices for Band member homes. Equipment, installation needs and support are agreed before work begins.

About your consultant

I'm Chris Duncan.

Member of the Xatś’úll First Nation
Based in Mission, British Columbia

I run Priority Freelance Consulting. My background includes more than a decade working in legal practice, mentorship under accomplished entrepreneurs, and hands-on work with AI tools and IT networking.

I bring that experience to economic development and the day-to-day work behind it: assessing an opportunity, finding out why a project has stalled, improving a process or working with staff and partners to get it done.

I also work with members and youth on career and education planning, including applications, training options, scholarships and apprenticeships.

Before we start

A clear scope.
Your staff stay in control.

Agree on the work and the cost

Start with a no-charge, 30-minute conversation. Then agree in writing on the outputs, responsibilities, fee and any separate setup, software or support costs.

Decide what information can be used

We can begin with public or fictional information. Before internal records enter a new tool, agree on permitted uses, access, software providers, storage, retention and review requirements with your staff and technical advisers.

Review the result before it goes further

Designated people approve documents, communications and decisions. Funding, governance, care and family-record decisions remain with authorised staff. Recordings and community knowledge follow the permissions set by the Nation and knowledge holders.
